SCORE, the nation’s largest volunteer business mentoring service, is a nonprofit association dedicated to help advise individuals in business, about to start a business, or just thinking about starting a business. Founded in 1964, SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration. SCORE Northern Nevada is one of almost 400 chapters of the National SCORE Organization, a nationwide, non-profit, volunteer-based group of both retired and active professionals who are dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation’s small businesses. We offer Free and Confidential business advice, mentoring, and information. Approximately 40 volunteer business mentors belong to the Northern Nevada SCORE Chapter. Our volunteers are real-world professionals, both active and retired, with time-tested knowledge, who volunteer thousands of hours to help small businesses succeed. Our business mentors are experts in such areas as accounting, finance, human resources, consulting, import / export, law, operations, production, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, sales, marketing, management, business plan preparation, strategic planning and many other disciplines.
