The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is a worldwide organisation with an established international pedigree and a global membership strength of more than 35,000 in 50 countries. The organisation was formed in the United Kingdom in 1919 as the Institute of Transport and granted a Royal Charter in 1926. It was renamed as The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) in 2001. The Singapore Group was formed in 1971.
