The suffering and exploitation of animals in Australia is legal and it happens every day because of cruel, inadequate and inconsistent laws. The Animal Law Institute Ltd protects animals and empowers their advocates to challenge the way our legal system treats animals by: - Providing pro bono legal advice; -Representing animals and their advocates in court; - Lobbying for compassionate laws; and - Providing free legal education. Founded in 2014, ALI is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and registered charity. ALI is also a community legal centre and member of peak bodies the Victorian Federation of Community Legal Centres and National Association of Community Legal Centres.
