We love being in the sea – the quick early morning dip, the unwinding-from-work swim in the evening, but most of all, that first holiday swim in the Atlantic Ocean when we escape out to west to Beara. Seaweed, saltwater and everything else that life by the ocean offers. We also love the adventure of a west coast road trip; to go off-grid, get closer to nature and explore the coastal beauty of Beara and beyond, and we wanted the option of a high-end, custom-built van to do this (even in winter!). So we’re building a fleet of them! And sometimes we just want the ease and comfort of a coastal bolthole to spend a long weekend in. We’ve found old Irish cottages and farmhouses to restore and transform on the beautiful Beara Peninsula – architect designed, energy efficient coastal retreats, connected to the landscape and with the simple luxuries that are important to us. We know there are people out there who feel the same so we want to build a community of people who celebrate this life by the ocean – whether it’s exploring our coastline in our Seaweed & Saltwater vans, renting our houses or simply sharing our favourite swim spots and meeting the extraordinary makers & crafters along the way. Like all good things it will take time, but sometimes the journey is just as fun as the destination so we hope you’ll join us.
