The Jark Story So Far… 1996 Jark launched under the directorship of entrepreneur John Buckman who had a vision to create a network of successful branch managed recruitment business across the UK and Northern Ireland. In the beginning, Jark served the Construction, Healthcare and Industrial sectors. 2008 Jark acquired the Aptus Group to create a recruitment business with a combined turnover in excess of £100m. The acquisition added strength to the existing Industrial, Construction, Healthcare and Commercial divisions whilst bringing critical mass in other sectors, including the Public Sector and Driving. Aptus can trace its trading back to 1963 and has a history of managing larger national accounts with blue chip Top 100 FT index companies. 2016 In a dramatic restructure in 2016, Jark moved from being a branch orientated recruitment company to become a joint venture operation. In doing so it empowered many of its branch managers to become owners of their own company offering them the benefits of shares in their own business.
