“Together, we can make trials better!” Clinical development is an essential component of bringing new, innovative medicines to market. It is conducted to answer specific questions with scientific rigour about whether experimental treatments are safe and effective enough to start prescribing to patients. But the current approach to clinical development has some fundamental flaws, and both patients and the healthcare system as a whole are suffering as a result. We strongly believe that, while there has been great progress in the design and execution of clinical trials, there remains many opportunities to make drug and device development better. That is why we believe that working together and continuing to leverage advancing technologies coupled with the power of innovative collaboration, we can achieve smarter clinical development approaches, trial design and execution (including decentralised, hybrid & conventional trial models) to vastly expand the reach and access of trials to a broader and more diversified patient community, provide enhanced patient recruitment, experience & retention, and deliver accelerated drug & device development programs and thereby more rapidly providing the treatments to improve and extend lives of people around the world.
