Based in Charlotte, NC, Care Ring leads a collaborative effort to meet our community's changing health care needs and to fight racial and economic disparities in health outcomes. We are a non-profit organization that helps people who fall through the cracks of the health care system in Mecklenburg County. Since 1955, we have been providing uninsured individuals struggling with poverty with access to medical and dental care. One in 10 people die from limited access to health services. Care Ring's goal is to prevent these needless tragedies and build a stronger, healthier community. Our 3 service lines are: a Low-Cost Clinic that provides affordable, preventive care and chronic disease management; Physicians Reach Out, an innovative network of volunteer providers who donate care to our patients across a wide range of specialties totaling over $51M each year; and Nurse-Family Partnership, a poverty-fighting program that pairs a free Registered Nurse with an expectant mother to guide her through a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery, then remains with the mother and child until the child's second birthday to assist with parenting and life skills and critical resources to help mom reach her goals. Care Ring also has social workers and nurse case managers on staff to assist all our clients with accessing wraparound services like counseling, food, housing, medical equipment, medications, and more to remove barriers to living their best, healthiest life. Last year we served 7,670 individuals and their families.
