In 2013 we created and launched an innovative set of awards to highlight outstanding achievement and dedication within the technical theatre industry. Our unique awards give credit to dedicated individuals, who are often not recognised for their hard work behind the scenes. The awards function very simply; to bring our amazingly creative industry closer together, giving everyone working within the technical theatre industry the opportunity to recognise the excellence of their colleagues. For the last two years the Technical Theatre Awards have been presented at a ceremony during PLASA London on the Theatres Trust Stage. Nominations for TTA’s 2015 open on 1st March and from this point, anyone working in the industry can register and nominate a colleague. Simply visit the ‘Nomination Suggestion’ where you’ll be asked to provide a short statement explaining your choice of nominee: this is your opportunity to tell us at the TTAs why the person or company you’ve chosen stands out above the rest and deserves some recognition, so don’t hold back! Nominations close on 13th May 2015 and the Technical Theatre Awards Panel (a selection of experienced individuals working professionally within the industry) will draw up a shortlist of candidates per award. Details of the lucky finalists are released online on 24th June 2015 when voting opens.
