green|spaces is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Our mission is to work toward regional sustainability by progressing the way we live, work and build in Chattanooga and the surrounding region. We have completed and are working on a variety of projects including Empower Chattanooga and green|light. Empower Chattanooga is our most recent project geared toward considering how energy use and affordability of utilities affect the quality of life in Chattanooga. By coordinating the delivery of a range of services based on grassroots feedback, real-time geospatial analysis, and the ongoing coordination of public and private resources, we plan on making the quality of life in Chattanooga better. Greenlight is a third party corporate sustainability certification for Chattanooga businesses. Greenlight helps businesses with employee attraction, stronger public image, cost savings, and environmental stewardship. We also host a variety of educational and training programs in order to make locals more informed about how they can participate in making Chattanooga more sustainable.
