Blackpool College was responsible for my photography training during the 1980's. At the time it was considered one of the best places to study photography with a high proportion of students proceeding into the profession. In 1988, I took on the role of staff photographer with the world's largest oil company, Saudi ARAMCO, based in Saudi Arabia. The Dhahran photolab supported the company Kingdom wide both onshore and offshore. Frequent commissions came in from the petrochemical complexes, capturing installations and expansion projects. Remote desert construction projects and Gulf based operations with shipping were regular subjects. Working with other major contractors also took place on big projects including Brown & Root and Bechtel. Photography for Industry was created in 1995 having returned from The Middle East. The aim was to establish UK based clientele which relied upon high quality photography to support marketing. Topics which have been regular subjects include :- transport, chemical plants, manufacturing, workshops, fabrication, paints, quarrying, metals, surface coatings, machinery, process industry, building, heavy lifts, technology, recycling, composites, agriculture, systems & controls, shipping, electrical installations, materials handling, alloys, analytical services, heat treatments, waste to energy and the odd school prospectus. More recently, pest control has been covered in food manufacturing and preparation areas. The aim is to supply top quality, well lit images for use in literature, presentations, exhibition displays and to support business promotion and tenders. To transform everyday subjects into striking images which will provoke interest and generate business and enhance the image portrayed by the company.
