www.pspbl.orgThe Police Society for Problem Based Learning is a not for profit organization created by law enforcement professionals for the purpose of improving the quality of police training. Our goal has always been to promote the use of Problem Based Learning and to support the Police Training Officer (PTO.) OUR MISSION: 1. To promote the advancement of law enforcement towards community-oriented policing and problem solving through problem-based learning. 2. To introduce modern educational methods to promote the values of problem-solving, critical thinking and ethical decision-making in law enforcement culture. 3. To facilitate and sustain transformation to problem based learning at training academies and at all levels of police departments, corrections and allied social institutions. 4. To develop and sustain critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the Police Training Office (PTO) program. 5. To form strategic alliances that promote and sustain interdisciplinary connections and communications among services committed to transforming policing and correctional services to community based problem-solving cultures. 6. To promote related training standards for academies and instructors engaged in public safety training. The society is run by volunteers who believe in a better training for police professionals.
