411 Seniors Centre Society
www.411seniors.bc.caThe 411 Seniors Centre is an easily accessible, multi-purpose social and recreational drop-in facility for seniors. Centrally located in downtown Vancouver, the Centre offers a variety of programs, services, and special projects for seniors. It also houses several Associate Members who directly or indirectly work with seniors. The Centre is directed by the 411 Seniors Centre Society, with a Board of Directors, a small staff, and a number of volunteers. 411 Seniors Centre Society works toward an inclusive community of informed and connected seniors in the Lower Mainland. Mission Statement 411 Seniors Centre Society provides senior-led programs and services that mobilize seniors’ diverse strengths, talents, interests, and expertise to the benefit of fellow seniors and the community at large, and in collaboration with like-minded organizations. History of 411 For over 40 years, the 411 Seniors Centre Society has been dedicated to the well-being of those aged 55 and older. It is a community hub where people meet, socialize, organize around issues important to seniors. Since 2015, we have been temporarily located on the 7th floor of 333 Terminal Avenue. While space limitations limit some programming, the center has remained vibrant and active with a full set of advocacy, education and social programs. Plans are now actively underway for 411 to move to Cedar Cottage/Fraserview, at Fraser and 19th Avenue – another vibrant Vancouver neighborhood easily accessible by bus. Watch this site for ongoing news about the move scheduled for 2020. Check out the ongoing programs including services and activities described on this website.
