Established in 2020, HKU Trading Group aims to spark interest in Investment Banking and Markets in hopes to inspire members to pursue a career in the industry. We organize mentorships, competitions, and training sessions, publish regular fundamental, macro, and quant reports, and manage a simulated portfolio in partnership with Valuable Capital. One of our flagship projects this year is organizing a poker tournament in HKU sponsored by Flow Traders. Our new structural change is designated to strengthen members’ investment acumen by combining top-down and bottom-up research approaches. We derive equity alpha, quant, and macro strategies based on our thematic research in sectors including TMT, Consumer, Industrial/Energy, and Transport/A&D. Our first batch of alums work at bulge bracket investment banks and well-regarded trading shops - We look forward to expanding our community and knowledge base with students who share the same passion down the road.
