A confluence of arts, creativity and commerce. Amid the lush greenery and friendly spaces at Upper Wilkie Road, a passionate, multi-talented and multi-disciplinary group came together in 2007 to create a vision, and to make it a reality known as Emily Hill. Each member of this group is committed to working beyond their individual fields of specialization, to collaborate and establish a creatively vibrant and diversely exciting art community at this inspiring hilltop location. Emily Hill creative cooperative is the first, tangible instance of the drive to promote creative industries bearing distinctly Singaporean fruit. It represents a ground-up initiative of creative people, in both commercial and artistic practice, to establish a new kind of enterprise. One in which the dedication and discipline usually associated with cultivating artistic innovation is nurtured together and in tandem with the priority to grow commercial potential and markets. Current programmes include: - Six Degrees, a new community for everyone in the creative industries, (www.sixdegrees.asia) and - business skills courses and workshops for artists, as well entrepreneurs and managers, in the arts and creative industries.
