The Episcopal Church in Connecticut is a "diocese" of The Episcopal Church and the global Anglican Communion. It consists of 160+ parishes and worshiping communities throughout the state and about 500 clergy. The Episcopal Church in Connecticut is overseen by two bishops - the Rt. Rev. Ian T. Douglas and the Rt. Rev. Laura J. Ahrens, and a staff of about 20 people, most of whom work in an open office at a renovated factory in Meriden. The Church's emphasis is on participating in God's mission of restoration and reconciliation.
