Vienna Boys Choir
www.wsk.atThe Vienna Boys Choir (Wiener Sängerknaben) was founded in 1498; its roots go back to a boys' schola cantorum in Vienna's Hofburg Palacec. It is one of the oldest musical ensembles still going. Today, the Choir is a private, non-profit organisation. There are four touring boys' choirs of 24-26 boys each, a girls' choir, two youth choirs, a training choir, and a community choir. The Choir's training and singing tradition is listed by UNESCO as part of Austria's cultural heritage.
