The Children’s Book Bank is a not-for-profit charity located in downtown Toronto in the St. Jamestown, Regent Park neighbourhoods. We’ve been distributing new and gently-used books to children from baby to 18 years of age, to children across the Greater Toronto Area – with a focus on high-needs neighbourhoods, for over 10 years. Families are welcome to visit our storefront location as often as they wish and every child (and accompanying caregiver) can take and keep one book every day. The Children’s Book Bank is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers, who help customers choose appropriate books and provide advice. And all the books are given away - for free. Since opening in 2008, The Children’s Book Bank has given away over 1.5 million books!
