The CO+HOOTS Foundation was founded in 2014 as the nonprofit catalyst to CO+WORK, CO+BUILD and CO+CHANGE the world through provided education, mentorship, intentional connections and leadership. The CO+HOOTS Foundation mission is to create a community that is equitable, innovative and thriving by providing opportunities for underrepresented communities through ongoing education, scholarships and partnerships. We are hell-bent on growing, supporting and engaging the immense power of coworkers, independent workers and small businesses to create long term, positive change in the community and empower individuals to succeed through the power of entrepreneurship. The Foundation made its debut by hosting the largest CodeDay in the nation while hosting the most ethnically diverse group as well as promoting the highest female attendance in the nation in 2014 and 2015. Since its formation, CO+HOOTS Foundation has hosted 24-hour design-a-thons that pair locally impactful nonprofits with a team of skilled professionals to work together to redesign, create websites and cultivate new marketing strategies. We’ve paired small businesses ready to scale with mentors and focus groups to position them for success, held weekend- long events for students to form teams and pitch business concepts to a group of judges, and work diligently to connect members to causes that they are passionate about. The CO+HOOTS Foundation is the flash point of innovation and a hub of connection in Phoenix; providing entrepreneurial, business and technology education to bright young minds and helping entrepreneurs to flourish, to connect with their communities and to change the world with us.
