Champions for Life Foundation | Fondation Champions pour la vie
www.championsforlife.caThe Champions for Life Foundation is a charitable organization devoted to helping children, primarily in low socioeconomic communities, learn to move well in order to succeed in sport and in life. The Champions for Life program teaches children to move better thanks to a wide range of fun activities and games. This is part of developing physical literacy, the competence, confidence, and motivation to move and be physically active for all the health benefits it brings today and for tomorrow. The program is designed specifically for children ages 5 to 8 years old, from kindergarten to Grade 2, usually offered during the after school daycare program. The children develop fundamental movement skills like balancing on one leg, running, jumping, hopping, skipping, galloping, throwing and catching a ball, rolling on the ground, kicking a ball, dribbling a ball with the feet or the hands, and so on. The program is offered for free to 60 schools in underprivileged neighbourhoods. To date, we have impacted the lives of more than 10,000 children participating in the program. We also work with schools, municipalities, camps, sports associations and community centres by providing the curriculum, tools and support.
