Training, based on the German Dual System of practical and theoretical learning, has been one of the key roles and services of the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce abroad (AHKs). To extend this service to member companies in India and provide to them a common management training platform, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce has established the Indo-German Training Centre, Mumbai (in 1991), Chennai (in 2005) and Bangalore (in 2008). For 25 years, the IGTC stands as a success story of the much sort-after industry-academia model in education. All the IGTCs are centrally located, fully air-conditioned, wi-fi enabled facilities with a well-equipped library. They share a common vision under the aegis of the Chamber. They conduct the following programmes: • Flagship 18-months, full-time, Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration (PGPBA) based on the famed German Dual System to nurture future management trainees for German and other IGCC member companies. • One-year Executive Business Management Programme (EBMP) conducted on alternate weekends to equip middle management executives of member companies with a holistic, cross-functional exposure to all aspects of management Over 1200 alumni have graduated from the Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration and 300 have completed the Executive Business Management Programme, after which they have met with unanimous success among German and Indian companies in India.
