Lignovations is an Austrian Startup that has developed technology that will revolutionize the chemical industry by accelerating the transition from using dirty fossil resources to using clean biomass. Lignovations is specialized in producing multifunctional particles from Lignin that enable the production of sustainable and environmentally friendly products in many industries, e.g. cosmetics, paints and packaging. Lignin makes up a large part of wooden biomass. It gives mechanical stability to the plant and additionally protects the plant from sunlight, oxidative degradation and bacterial or fungal attacks. After extracting raw lignin from the biomass source, e.g., wood or straw, we use our patented process to transform it into small lignin particles – our Colloidal Lignin Particles (CLP). Thereby we enhance the lignin’s natural properties and make it applicable for industry as a functional ingredient to replace or reduce harmful synthetic ingredients in a variety of applications. Thus, our Colloidal Lignin Particles increase the sustainability of sunscreens, paints, varnishes, packaging, and textiles.
