The name “Bridge The Gap” clearly defines our role; that is endeavouring to bridge the gap between those who have and desire to give and those who are in need. Our role is that of intermediator between these two sections of the community. An example of this is having recently sourced hospital equipment and then being able to arrange delivery of 16 hospital beds to a local Hospice. These beds plus linen were donated by a private hospital in our city. Bridging the Gap …… We support families who are in financial crisis with monthly food parcels; Hospices with a regular supply of nutritional foods. Aids orphans with protein and clothing as well as being a major contributor to a feeding scheme that provides a nutritional meal to between 200-300 children on a weekly basis. As we receive donations of clothing etc., these are immediately dispensed to the needy in our community. Yearly Christmas drives and parties as well as our annual Winter drives are initiated and because of the support of members of Delta Community Church, we are able to supply that oh so exciting Christmas gift for a child or old person and that warming and welcome winter blanket, scarf and jacket to varies organisations. Our mission statement is: Invest in, Influence and Restore people’s lives to become active citizens utilising their full potential. The needs within our community are great. We have but to step outside the doors of our local church to see the aged, the orphan, the sick, the hungry, the homeless, and struggling families. Many choose to close their eyes as they feel helpless to make a difference but together….. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Together we can bring a smile to someone’s face today.
