EZINNE ATHLETICS
www.ezinneathletics.noAt Ezinne Athletics (EA) we believe that every girl in society, regardless of their ethnicity or background, should get equal chances in sports to have fun, develop their talents and enjoy being in an including community. We believe that sports is the best tool for the girls to develop self-motivation, resiliency and strong appreciation for their own health and well-being. The way we want to realize our beliefs is through creating an environment in which the girls get a strong feeling of belonging and connection, learn how to treat themselves and others kindly and embrace going through struggles and failure to learn. To help young girls become the future ethical leaders and positive contributors for our society, we offer training and equipment for them free of charge once a week. To include more girls with multicultural background and be an offer for those girls on a national level, we need strong and trustworthy partners in the back that can be together with us on the journey to make a difference in society and contribute good work. Our Progression • Ezinne Athletics is the winner of Sponsor & Event 2016 & OXLO prisen 2017, and nominated for Jenteprisen 2018. • Since 2015 when we first started, more than 100 girls have been part of the program. We practice once a week at Grantangen School. • We have discovered several talents with the potential to compete for Norway on national and international level in athletics. • The girls have participated at Bislett Games (IAAF Diamond League) in the opening event, TineStafetten and other various competitions. They are often lectured about healthy nutrition and have been to various trips and social activities together. • We have a yearly event (Ezinne Athletics Day), where the girls, their parents and the community comes together and spend their time together doing sport.
