Low cost Public Health education by e-learning for developing countries: Peoples-uni Most low to middle income countries (LMIC) currently have to cope with a wide range of health problems that interfere with their future economic development. A trained workforce of health professionals is essential to improve the health of the population, however human resources for health are limited for a number of reasons. The People's Open Access Education Initiative (Peoples-uni) offered fully online high quality and low cost education in Public Health to assist with Public Health capacity-building. After 15 years and many thousands of students including 159 master's graduates, Peoples-uni closed in 2021.
