http://artcampforwomen.com - Art Camp for Women is distinct from other art retreats in that it is as much about the women as the art. It is a week long art educational retreat. It consists of art lessons in mixed media, fiber arts, art journaling and embellishments taught by internationally known art teachers. Located in the Colorado Rockies, it includes lodging, meals, and all art supplies, tools and masses of fun! Lorri Flint and Lori Wostl facilitate and teach at Art Camp for Women and are supported with a chef and staff. This year, 2011,they are joined by two famous art teachers - Beryl Taylor (http://www.beryltaylor.com), and Kelli Nina Perkins (http://ephemeralalchemy.blogspot.com) Beryl Taylor is a well known artist, author & art teacher who “imaginatively manipulates, dyes, paints, stamps, embroiders and decorates her papers and fabrics to produce enriching textured effects and vibrant colors.…”. Her gorgeous and instructional book is “Mixed Media Explorations." Kelli Nina Perkins, also a well known mixed media artist, author & art teacher, who creates art that "prizes the everyday ephemera of our lives, incorporating the common flotsam of discarded life into art that speaks to the heart." She's taught altered books, paper bead making and a variety of mixed media on a local and national level, with virtual studios at the International Quilt Show and a DVD for Quilting Arts Workshops titled "Stitch Imagery." Her book is Stitch Alchemy and is to die for.
