arki_lab is an urban design and research firm based in Copenhagen, Denmark. We have an extensive expertise in integrating citizen involvement in the design process, and our work is defined by a strong focus on democratic processes. We want to challenge the traditional urban planning processes and ensure that the development of our cities occurs as a collective effort. We are convinced that good cities are diverse and democratic cities which support, facilitate and nurture the community. Placing people at the center of urban development is then the aim we work at, citizen involvement being the foundation for either physical design or softer processes.
