Twenty years ago, Hopscotch opened its doors in Greenwich, CT. Over the next two decades, Greenwich opened its arms to Hopscotch. That local support has made possible the salon’s longevity and success and won countless local accolades, including Hopscotch’s 2011 listing in BeautyAndStyle.com’s “Best Salons in Greenwich.” At the same time, Hopscotch has tried to do its hometown proud, bringing national recognition to our little corner of Connecticut. The salon was featured in gorgeous.com’s “Best U.S. Salons 2013,” Elle Magazine’s “Top 100 Salons in the United States” (2009 & 2010), and InStyle Magazine’s Beauty Black Book 2013 “Standout Salons.” As a part of Greenwich since its birth a generation ago, Hopscotch also takes seriously its responsibility to be a good neighbor—with a particular interest in fostering education and helping children. The salon is honored to have worked with Kids in Crisis, which provides emergency counseling and temporary shelter for infants, children, and teens, and Locks of Love, which offers hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. Hopscotch has been an enthusiastic supporter of local schools, and has contributed as well to the Greenwich Symphony, which has delighted audiences for over half a century, and the important work of Greenwich’s Breast Cancer Alliance. Helping these and other local organizations reflects Hopscotch’s deep-rooted philosophy that a business serving the community should be fully part of the community, giving back to those who have been its loyal customers and friends. Twenty years ago, Hopscotch introduced itself as “Connecticut’s New York salon.” A generation later, it is even more proud to be Greenwich’s hometown hair salon.
