Santa Tresa is a 50 ha organic estate located in the winemaker paradise of Vittoria (RG), in the south east of Sicily. At Santa Tresa we work in harmony with nature to make expressive, authentic Sicilian wines, which are rigorously organic. Behind the ancient estate of Feudo di Santa Tresa lies a dynamic partnership between the northern Italian Girelli family. It was in the early 1990s that brother and sister Stefano and Marina Girelli, wine entrepreneurs from Trentino, discovered the wonderful vineyards of Sicily. In 2001, Santa Tresa was acquired by Stefano and Marina, who immediately started the project to overhaul the entire estate completely – culminated with obtaining the official organic certification in 2009. “TERRA ROSSA” RED SOIL: Our vines are enriched by particular nutrients found in the Santa Tresa Terra Rossa, resulting in grapes which are a direct reflection of this special terroir. ORGANIC & BIODIVERSITY: Our microclimate and bio-diversity are perfect for organic. Organic is not just a choice, but a philosophy! A MEETING OF CULTURES: Nowhere better represents the meeting of cultures than the island of Sicily. CERASUOLO DI VITTORIA: Cerasuolo, the famous wine of Vittoria and Sicily’s only DOCG, has a long connection with Santa Tresa: in the 1950s Santa Tresa was the one of two producers ever to make Cerasuolo di Vittoria and label as such.
