DrillSafe was launched by Colin Rice Exploration and Training (Pty) Ltd in October 2017 in response to the fact that accidents are frequently repeated in the drilling industry. DrillSafe is a web-based initiative that aims to improve safety performance on all drill sites by increasing the knowledge and understanding of major drill site hazards at all levels of the drilling industry. We strongly believe that sharing knowledge and experience and then learning from it, is the only way that we can achieve the industry objectives of "no repeats" and "zero harm". We do this by publishing technical articles that examine and explain the the major hazards associated with drilling operations, such as: - High pressure compressed air - Rotating drill rods - Hoisting operations and - Drilling fluids Articles on legal and environmental aspects are also published as well as the lessons learned from incident and accident reports.
