Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (CFHU), founded in 1944, promotes awareness, leadership and financial support for The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. It facilitates academic and research partnerships between Canada and Israel as well as establishing scholarships, supporting research and recruiting Canadian students to attend the Rothberg International School. Canadian Friends have been an integral force in the Hebrew University's rise to international prominence through the establishment of scholarships and the funding of cutting-edge research. In May 2008, the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University undertook a major fundraising role in support of The Hebrew University's Institute for Medical Research Israel-Canada (IMRIC).
