Counselor Books is a publishing platform for high-quality, specialized books in print and e-book formats. Current titles are as follows: "A Basic Glossary of Invertebrate Zoology" This glossary guides the reader through over 900 of the most common terms in the field. Each word is thoughtfully defined and cross-referenced, and each is given its proper taxonomic context based on the latest scientific studies. "Six Nine, Two Ten" In this essay Ron Clouse tells the story of his body, from being a sick baby, to a tall teenager, to an adult who finally found the right diet balance to achieve his optimal weight. Along the way, he explores the chemistry of energy metabolism, obesity on remote tropical islands, and the arguments for eating mostly plants. "The Wiring Diagram" John Hoskyns, like everyone in the 1970s, knew something was very wrong with the British economy. Despite decades of meticulous management, redistribution, and social guarantees, the population was feeling poorer, and their lives more chaotic. The former software engineer summarized his analysis in his now famous “wiring diagram.” The chart was shown to Margaret Thatcher, who brought Hoskyns into her government as a key strategist. This book guides the reader through Hoskyn’s diagram cell by cell, using it as a platform from which to discuss the underlying economic concepts. "Ray Komai, Design for America" With radiant talent, determined industry, and a cheerful disposition, designer Ray Komai built an unusual career. After forced removal to Manzanar, the World War II incarceration camp for Japanese-Americans, the Los Angeles native designed notable furniture, textiles, and magazines in New York City in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. He left New York to design exhibitions and publications for the United States Information Service, promoting the country that had once put him behind barbed wire. Komai left behind beautiful work that provides insight into the relationship between design and nationalism.
