Global Gathering Place
www.globalgatheringplace.comGlobal Gathering Place (GGP) is a local non-profit that gives personalized, heartfelt assistance to every refugee and immigrant who comes through the door, regardless of their barriers or status. A welcoming home away from home, GGP acts as a cultural bridge between newcomers and life in Saskatoon. We help our clients navigate big stuff like language, health care, and employment, and teach life skills that many of us do without thinking (like banking and grocery shopping). We also put on weekly programs and engaging activities that encourage new friendships and make our community feel like home. In addition to serving clients, GGP seeks to educate the public. Our goal is for people to recognize that settlement is a two-way process - we all share a responsibility to help newcomers integrate and thrive. Through collaboration, trainings, speaking engagements, and events, we build partnerships with a wide variety of organizations who share our belief that there is strength in diversity. And that newcomers and refugees, when given the opportunity, make valuable contributions to all aspects of Canadian society.
