Red Lotus Society is an educational non-profit creating environments for the study and practice of inner, communal, and global peace. We envision a more peaceful, sustainable and compassionate world, in which mindful thought, speech and action are common practices of everyday life. Our Values: WISDOM - The ability to examine life skillfully COMPASSION - Action to relieve suffering wherever it is found RESPECT - Proper attention and consideration towards oneself and others GRATITUDE - Appreciation demonstrated in words, deeds and thought We operate a multicultural peace practice center in downtown San Diego historically known as the Ideal Hotel (est. 1912), a restoration project of Red Lotus Society. It was a 4-year project taking over 50,000 hours of volunteer labor to complete. Today, the center offers over 30 classes/events/courses each week in peace education.
