It works with both primary teachers and with science based industry. It highlights STEM opportunities for young people by building visible links between science education and its application in industry and related careers. CIEC's expertise helps the industry partners they work with to increase and sustain the number of local children considering a future within their industry. CIEC offers science industries a range of tailored approaches to work with schools, supporting their CSR and community outreach goals. CIEC provides free downloadable science publications and interactive websites for teachers that support the teaching of the UK's science curricula for 4-12 year olds. They also offers training and CPD on the teaching and learning of science, and on increasing children’s science capital. CIEC has been running Children Challenging Industry programme for 25 years. This flagship programme has been delivered in various English regions since 1996. Combining tailored training for industry partners and primary school staff with fully resourced problem-solving classroom activities and interactive site visits to industry the programme has been robustly evaluated for 25 years.
