The cities of Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish, Whitewood and the township of St. Onge are located within Lawrence County. The County Seat is located in historic Deadwood. Lawrence County has a total area of 800 square miles and a population of approximately 24,097 (2010 U.S. Census Data).
