I always wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I never knew I'd be an artist, a graphic designer, a creative director, a brand stylist, an art teacher, a wedding and event planner, a children's book illustrator, a chalk artist, and so much more. But it's the greatest thing ever. Hi, I'm Stacey Leonard, owner and artist of This Is Art, my favorite company in the entire world. Where thoughts in my head become scratches on paper and finally a finished product in my client's hands. This Is Art is a creative catch all for the many industries, mediums and styles I dabble in artistically. I work for the most incredible clients I could ever ask for, building brands, painting pet portraits, lettering vows on handmade paper. I also work for myself, painting, writing, building and illustrating to my heart's content. My full time job at This Is Art varies widely from week to week. To give you a general idea, one day my to-do list could look like this: Finish designing website Paint foreground Sketch storyboarding concepts for commercial Write up cut list for picture frames Send business card files Test ink colors on linen for backdrop And the next day: Illustrate children's book cover Finalize wording on poster Discuss final floral placement with bride Meeting with CEO for creative strategy Design album cover for recording artist Each day is different, and usually pretty crazy, and always incredibly exciting. I hate to sound cliche, but it's true: Do what you love and you won't work a day in your life. This Is Art is the entire culmination of what I love. And everyone seems to tell me it shows in my work. I hope so. I'm fortunate enough to have 99% of my business built on referrals, and satisfying my client, whether it's a corporate CEO or my friend's grandmother, is my top priority.
