TWIBS is a map-based, financially-transparent dating app. Users place pins on the map at their favorite restaurants and specify who would pay for the date. For example, a user can drop a pin at their favorite sushi place and select “My Treat” as the payment option. Other users will see their pin (their TWIB) on the map and can send a message if they’re interested in being taken out at that location. TWIBS was incorporated as a Benefit Corporation. Our mission statement is to "balance social benefit with profit in developing social networking software that promotes non-addictive use patterns and destigmatizes payment transparency in order to prioritize user experience over shareholder value." We want to create a dating app that accepts the realities of modern living without judgment, that is values-driven and open to everyone, and that strives to build trust with users instead of making them pay for premium features that should be free. We incorporated as a B-Corp because we want to stay true to those values even once we go public. We're looking for motivated and driven individuals who believe in the company's purpose and in the possibility of creating a dating app that people actually enjoy using and are excited about.
