Govan & Uni of Manchester FC
www.pitchero.comGovan Athletic Football Club is a welcoming, ambitious and organised amateur football club based at Platt Lane Complex and playing in the Manchester Football League: a regional development league (Step 7) feeding into the North West Counties (Step 6) and semi-pro football. Formed in 2001 by founder, Jack Norbury, the club prides itself on its professional approach to club and player development. We offer professional, engaging and innovative training sessions with a ball-centric focus. We aim to play positive, no-fear, possession-based attacking football whilst striving to continue our rise up through the football pyramid structure. The club is looking to strengthen our ties in the local South Manchester community, supporting local charities and providing a pathway for young players into open age football. Our new partnership with the University of Manchester has helped us to work towards these goals and we hope to build on this in the coming years. The core values of the club are honesty, commitment, hard work, resilience, ambitiousness, fairness, preparedness, respect, team-work and a one-club mentality. With our 17 strong committee and 80 committed playing members, we believe you will not find a more organised, supportive and welcoming club.
