Following years of research and development, Gradek Energy has developed a hydrocarbon recovery technology that will revolutionize the energy industry’s approach to oil waste management. At first glance, the company’s technology appears to be simple bead. But it is truly much more than that. The Re-usable Hydrocarbon Sorbent (RHS) technology is the result of extensive material science and engineering: it attracts oil and repels water. Organic, non-toxic and recyclable, the small, bi-polymer bead acts like Velcro when it comes in contact with hydrocarbons , capturing the product and taking it away. The potential impact of the technology to manage oil spills and oil contaminated byproducts both on land and water is astounding. Following a successful pilot project at its plant in Montreal, Quebec, Gradek Energy is now actively pursuing a commercial demonstration of its technology with major oil sands operators.
