Discover Career Coaching
www.discovercareercoaching.co.ukDiscover’s career coaching philosophy is to work with you in a way that helps you to determine your own course of action, based on your self-identified work and life preferences. It is not a ‘test and tell’ approach of giving advice. The emphasis is on working with you to discover what your preferences and priorities are and then helping you determine a way of achieving them. There are many reasons why people are prompted to undertake career coaching. I work with people facing confusing choices in their early careers, dealing with the disappointment of redundancy or some other career setback, or addressing their desire for change. Whatever the reason for seeking help, a coaching programme is tailored to individuals and carried out over four progressive and interrelated phases: Exploring, Clarifying, Visioning, and Action Planning. The coaching programme normally takes place over four meetings lasting between an hour and 90 minutes.. There will be preparatory work for you to complete beforehand and between meetings; this normally takes the form of career questionnaires and other exercises. At the end of the programme, you should have a practical action plan and a comprehensive set of data, giving you insight into your preferences, strengths, and resources, which you can refer to in future. I will always invite you to talk through your situation in a free introductory consultation so that you can decide if Discover Career Coaching’s programme suits your needs. This free consultation lasts about 30 minutes. Individual consultations after the programme are chargeable on a fixed fee basis and may be used for a review of progress or further support related to the completed programme.
