Passionfruit was founded by UCD and NUIG students in 2022 after experiencing continuous frustration with the recruitment processes on various platforms and lack of guidance in discovering their ideal career paths A continuous shortage of information, transparency, and feedback propelled the founders into action. They knew that it could be done better. Passionfruit is an online platform that aims to revolutionise the student recruitment industry through transparency, analytics, and personalisation. As students, we understand the effort and exasperation that occurs throughout application processes and the lack of understanding and knowledge surrounding recruitment. Due to an extreme lack of transparency and communication, employers struggle to hire effectively which consistently results in high costs due to high turnover rates, retraining for new hires, and opportunity costs. Passionfruit has been created to connect students and recent graduates to careers that are the optimal fit for the individual through an unrivalled, simple, and intuitive user experience alongside a matching algorithm. The design philosophy at strive is rooted in the idea of “simplicity and innovation” – an unforgettable design every step of the way. Alternative platforms are designed to promote multinational corporations, creating unnecessarily competitive application processes. At Passionfruit, we challenge this rhetoric by enabling students to realise their options and the different paths that can be taken from start-ups and SMEs to NGOs and MNCs. Our vision for Passionfruit goes beyond helping companies to improve their hiring process. We want to set the standard for recruiting globally as current standards are so much lower than what we believe is acceptable. Transparency, communication, and technological precision are the pillars we will use as a foundation to springboard the company moving forward.
