Faculty of Science - Toronto Metropolitan University
www.torontomu.caThe Faculty of Science at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) was inaugurated in 2012. A decade later, it has experienced growth beyond all expectations across four departments: Physics, Chemistry & Biology, Mathematics, and Computer Science. Each one stays agile in designing career-focused education to meet real-world, 21st century needs, such as Financial Mathematics, Medical Physics and Biomedical Sciences. The faculty’s strength is rooted in the diversity of its people, its connection with community and a collective passion for scientific discovery. Since inception, its researchers have been steadily building a reputation for innovating novel solutions to complex problems in areas such as artificial intelligence, disease treatment technology, network and data science, and environmental change and more. From its urban campus in downtown Toronto, the faculty forges fruitful collaborations of local, national and global scope within academia, industry and public sector. Some of our partners have included Microsoft, Ministry of the Environment, St. Michael’s Hospital, University College London and more. As society’s problems and challenges grow in complexity, the Faculty of Science is poised to expand its reach and impact. As the most applied-to university in Ontario relative to available spaces, Toronto Metropolitan University will continue to provide transformational experiences and hands-on, experiential learning that equips next-generation scientists to create meaningful change in their fields. Celebrate a decade of discovery with us at https://www.torontomu.ca/science/celebrating-10-years/.
