Latécoère Foundation

www.latecoere.com

Founded in 2004, the Latécoère Foundation aims to maintain the memory of Pierre-Georges Latécoère’s works. Such as the Latécoère aeronautical industry or Ligne Aérienne Latécoère, which became Aéropostale and then enventually turned into Air France. The Latécoère Foundation supports numerous projects to preserve the memory of aeronautics and its pioneers. These projects include: • The Raid Latécoère: commemoration of the Toulouse-Saint-Louis du Sénégal Line created by Pierre-Georges Latécoère in 1918. Supporting cultural and solidarity projects in the countries crossed by the Aéropostale pioneers. • L'Envol des Pionniers: a museum located on the historic site of the Latécoère factories in Montaudran (Toulouse, France) telling the story of La Ligne, then Aéropostale and its many pioneers. • Reconstruction of a functional Latécoère 28 by the Cercle des Machines Volantes (Compiègne, France). The Latécoère Foundation has collected archives containing aircraft plans, models and correspondence of Pierre-Georges Latécoère to ensure their preservation and to make them available to as many people as possible. Legendary pilots have been recruited by Latécoère, including Jean Mermoz, Henri Guillaumet and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The Latécoère Foundation also strives to maintain the memory of these pioneers who made the history of Aéropostale. As was of Pierre-Georges Latécoère’s dream: air travel to connect people. The aeronautical adventure started by Pierre-Georges Latécoère is above all a magnificent human adventure, which the Latécoère Foundation wishes to make known to the world. Historians work alongside the Foundation and regularly publish books on the history of Aéropostale and its pioneers.
