The Humanitarian Lift Project is a Non-Profit Corporation based in Cherry Hill, NJ which provides low-or-no-cost airlift services of humanitarian aid, supplies, and personnel to remote areas around the world. Founded in response to Hurricane Maria, HLP aims to use our resources and experience to provide effective transportation to support humanitarian efforts on the ground. Operated by experienced pilots and aviation industry professionals, HLP uses a combination of its own aircraft assets, volunteers, and donated air-freight resources from air cargo companies and lessors. We've supported Maria, and Dorian efforts, and have flown over 100 missions transporting over 220,000 LBS of cargo and over 100 passengers. We are presently expanding our presence by sourcing dedicated light cargo aircraft, and adding additional crews to provide a more consistent and reliable service. Our goal is to gradually move away from using private aircraft and create America's first dedicated non-profit air carrier that combines the standardization and reliability of on-demand charter airline, with an all-volunteer workforce of professional pilots looking to give back to the community in their spare time.
