Youth Business Initiative is an organization that primarily serves urban youth from the ages of 15-24 by providing the fundamental principles of business management to encourage entrepreneurship and career-building. YBI focuses on educating and creating alternatives for the youth to obtain their own financial security without the involvement of criminal-related activities. We aim to assist in eradicating the inequities that exist within urban communities through our organization. Studies show that youth programs have positive impacts such as the participants are able to develop professional skills, including effective leadership, more involvement in their communities decreases dropout rates, and they find a purpose. Our program offers three stages of development which involve discussing the fundamentals of business ownership, marketing, branding, and networking and managing their investments as well as clientele. The Youth Business Initiative is committed to empowering underserved youth, teaching and equipping them with skills to become successful entrepreneurs and managers.
