The Directors - William (Bill) Reed AM and Lindsay Youd created the brand in 2009 as they believed there was a niche market for high quality South Sea pearl jewellery. Bill Reed has more than forty-five years experience in almost all aspects of the pearl industry in many countries. He helped to found the first cultured pearl farm in Tahiti. Since returning to Australia in 1975 after many years overseas Bill founded two pearl farms in the remote waters of Western Australia. His contributions to the South Sea pearl industry have been recognised by the Australian and Tahitian governments and resulting in him being awarded the Order of Australia in 2012. Lindsay Youd is a second generation jeweller/watchmaker and his fascination with pearls began many years ago during the early days of his apprenticeship. In 1989 Lindsay made a decision to move to Broome to further his career in the pearling industry. Lindsay and Bill have been working business partners since 1989 and have built successful pearl farm consultancy, manufacturing, wholesale and retail businesses. Allure no longer owns pearls farms but has long term relationships with the best pearl producers in the world. This allows Allure to source the finest South Sea pearls direct from farms in Australia, Tahiti and the Philippines.
