The Buffalo Erie Niagara Land Improvement Corporation (BENLIC) is a government-created, not-for-profit corporation, formed in 2012 after the passage of the 2011 Land Bank Act in Albany. As an NYS Land Bank, BENLIC's primary focus is to return property back to productive use across Erie County, NY. BENLIC engages in blight removal, strategic parcel acquisition, new housing construction, and residential rehabilitation. BENLIC is joined by 25 other land banks operating throughout the State of New York.
