With 15+ years of experience in major publications as editorial art director/content creator, Kayoko founded District 8 Media in 2016 to publish DTLA BOOK, an annual hardcover coffee table guidebook about Downtown Los Angeles. The books are distributed through hotels (6,000+ in-room copies) and museum shops such as The Broad, on Amazon, and own Shopify site, with an estimated readership: of 1.1M. Due to COVID, the print and digital publications are currently on hold, however, District 8 Media has been busy working with DTLA clients such as Brookfield Properties, CCA, and Los Angeles Magazine. While most brand professionals can agree that “content is king”, substantial information and messages often get lost in the airwaves of social media or misguided by ill-executed branded contents. With Kayoko's background in print & digital editorial, District 8 Media can create a solidly crafted content foundation, utilizing their circle of writer/editors, fact checkers, photographers, retouchers and designers.
