In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxRoxbury, where x = independently organized TED event. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. Founded in 1630, Roxbury is Boston’s geographic center and has seen many demographic shifts in its nearly 400 years. Today, Roxbury is considered the cultural hub and epicenter of Boston's Black and Latinx community. Given its rich legacy of innovation and activism, TEDxRoxbury seeks to highlight and showcase what Roxbury has to offer by letting the world hear our "ideas worth spreading" and providing a platform for the innovative, yet unheard voices in the community.
