Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas
knightcenter.utexas.eduThe Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is the world leader in massive online courses in journalism. Created in August 2002 at the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin, the Knight Center has been a professional training and outreach program. Initially it focused solely on Latin America and the Caribbean, but in recent years it has benefitted thousands of journalists around the world with free or low-cost online training. Among other programs, it also hosts the International Symposium on Online Journalism (ISOJ), an annual conference that bridges the gap between the news industry and academia, examining changes in journalism during the digital revolution. The Center also publishes the trilingual Journalism in the Americas blog, which posts about freedom of expression and journalism in Latin America and the Caribbean.
